Krav Maga Bostson - Book 1

Krav Maga - Real World Solutions

"Krav Maga - Real World Solutions to Real World Violence" provides a comprehensive guide to practical self-defense bridging the gap between theoretical self-defense and the chaos and dynamism of real-life violent encounters, offering readers a realistic framework for understanding and surviving both armed and unarmed threats/attacks.

The book begins by establishing the core concepts of Krav Maga, emphasizing that effective self-defense requires understanding violence as it actually occurs rather than how it's portrayed in movies or sport competitions. A significant portion of the book focuses on threat assessment and situational awareness, teaching pre-attack indicators, and understanding the environmental factors that increase vulnerability.

The focus of the book is on pre-meditated acts of aggression and violence, where an aggressor/predatory individual pre-plans their interaction with whom they have targeted within a location. The book contains full color photographs that were shot at full speed and in a variety of Boston locations e.g., pubs/bars, public spaces etc.

Krav Maga - Tactical Survival

Like "Krav Maga - Real World Solutions to Real World Violence", “Krav Maga – Tactical Survival” was shot in full color, in Boston locations, with techniques being demonstrated at full speed. However, the focus of the book is on spontaneous acts of aggression and violence.

Spontaneous acts of violence occur when normal, everyday social interactions take a wrong turn e.g., somebody inadvertently takes a parking space that another person believes they are entitled to, or somebody without realizing jumps ahead of another person in a queue, or somebody who is innocently talking to another person in a bar, pub or club finds themselves having to deal with a jealous partner etc. Whilst some people may be inclined to use aggression and violence to navigate and solve such situations, they need a “trigger” for this to happen.

As well as providing solutions to a variety of threats and attacks the book also provides a proven and effective de-escalation method.

Krav Maga - Extreme Survival

Whilst Gershon Ben Keren’s first two books looked at the most common types of violence people are likely to experience, such as common/aggravated assaults and street robberies etc., his third book looks at high-consequence types of violence such as active shooter scenarios, car-jackings and home invasions.

Rather than simply looking at how to deal with such situations when they occur the book looks at proactive, rather than just reactive, steps that can be taken to prevent such incidents occurring in the first place.

The book was fully researched with a systematic review of the literature and research on active shooter incidents and a study of 147 different real-life events, to determine the commonalities and differences concerning this type of violence. This research determines the safest strategies and tactics that should be used when dealing with such incidents.

The books sections on home invasions and car-jackings contain proven methodolgies that have been used globally by security professionals.
